Illustration Friday: Lesson

UPDATE : I completed the background on this illustration and am really happy with how it turned out. You can view the final version HERE.

Dance has always been a major part of my life. I spent twelve years in dance classes growing up. Also, my husband and I have been members of a local ballroom dancing club for several years. When the topic for this week’s Illustration Friday was posted, I knew I wanted to depict some sort of dance lesson.

I decided to have a bit of fun and play with the characters a bit this week. This couple may seem a little mismatched but they are totally smitten with one another. He finally mustered up enough courage to ask her to dance… and they quickly found they are naturals on the dance floor. I wish them lots of luck with love.

I will be working on the background and will post up the final piece once it is done. Just wanted to make sure you all have a chance to share their joy in the meantime. As always… constructive criticism is welcome and appreciated!!!
